Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This policy explains what EMZ Labs ("we") collects through GameTimer - the Windows app on a child's PC (the "PC app") and the parent web app - why, and what you can do about it. GameTimer is used by parents and guardians; children don't create accounts.
1. What we collect
From the parent
- Google sign-in details: your name, email address and an account ID, so you can sign in and only you can see your family's PCs.
- What you set up: the names you give each PC, the apps you choose to limit, daily time limits and weekly schedules.
- Your time zone (for example "Asia/Seoul"), taken from your browser the first time you use the web app, so your child's day starts at your midnight.
From a PC linked to the web app
- A random ID for that PC (not linked to any personal account).
- Its device name, the GameTimer version, and whether it is online.
- Time-limit status: time used and remaining today, whether a break is on, and which of the monitored apps are running.
- Only when you ask for it while choosing apps to limit: a one-time list of the apps open on that PC, with their window titles. It is shown to you and not stored.
We do not collect keystrokes, screenshots, messages, browsing history, files, location, or what happens inside apps. A PC that isn't linked to the web app sends nothing about its use - it only checks for updates.
Some information stays only on the PC itself (for example, its own usage history and app logs) and is never sent to us.
2. Why we use it
- To show you your child's time and status in the web app, and to deliver the limits you set to the PC.
- To keep the PC app up to date and to check that a PC runs a supported version.
- To manage your plan once paid plans start (see our Terms).
- To keep the Service secure and fix problems.
We don't sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below.
3. Service providers
- Google Firebase - sign-in (Google accounts for parents, an anonymous ID for each PC) and hosting of the web app. Data from earlier GameTimer versions may still be held in Firebase until it is deleted.
- Cloudflare - the servers that store your family's data and relay it between the web app and the PCs.
- GitHub - stores the PC app's update files; a PC downloading an update connects to it.
- Zoho Mail - our email; messages you send to support@emzlabs.com are stored there.
These providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your family's data while you use the Service. To delete a PC's data or your whole account and all its data, contact us (below) and we will do so within 30 days.
5. Your choices and rights
- You can see and change what you set up in the web app at any time.
- You can unlink a PC (in the PC app's Settings) or uninstall the PC app.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it.
6. Children
GameTimer is a tool for parents and guardians. The data about a child's PC is provided and controlled by the parent who links it. If you believe a PC was linked without the proper authority, contact us and we will remove it.
7. Security
All data is sent over encrypted connections, each request is checked against the sender's sign-in, and the PC app only installs updates carrying our digital signature.
8. Browser storage
The web app uses your browser's storage only to keep you signed in. It uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Changes
We will post any changes here with a new date, and announce significant ones in the web app.
